Welcome to the MachineSafe August Newsletter.

Summer Shutdowns

Many companies in the UK and Europe are currently in their summer shutdown period. Engineering and projects departments use this time to carryout machinery rebuilds and install new machinery which cannot be carried out during business as usual.

Unless you are carrying out 'like for like' maintenance changes, then depending where you are, PUWER or Use of Work Equipment Directive inspections will be required before the machine re-enters service. In addition, if a significant change has been carried out, then re-assessment to The Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations or Machinery Directive maybe required.

This can be a daunting task for many organisations and unfortunately, is often 'skipped'.

Help is here, our PUWER and Use of Work Equipment Directive inspection modules are perfect for carrying out these statutory inspections, with integral risk assessments and photo capture. For those companies carrying out significant changes, the our CE/UKCA plugin will streamline any re-assessments.

Training is also available to upskill your teams.

Supporting multi-site companies.

We have been busy adding additional functionality to MachineSafe to assist companies who operate multiple sites.

When the company key-user adds colleagues to the MachineSafe platform, they can set the site or sites that the colleague can add inspections for or view reports.

The MachineSafe online dashboard new filtering by site which makes it very easy to monitor assets with open inspections and overdue inspections. Inspections can also be filtered by severity of open risk assessments.

CE / UKCA Marking

MachineSafe is not just for machinery end-users, our CE/UKCA Marking plugin is perfect for machinery manufacturers and those who carry out significant changes to machinery to CE/UKCA Mark machinery.

The CE/UKCA plugin includes modules for Risk Assessment, Essential Requirement, EN 60204-1, etc. that facilitate the compliance process. Build your technical file and output the required Declaration.

Adding your own company inspections.

Users of MachineSafe have instant access to multiple inspection modules, however there is also the option for customers to add their own inspection templates to MachineSafe.

You may have your own inspections that your teams are familiar with, however by adding them to your MachineSafe account, your team will have access to inspections they are familiar with but with all the benefits of the MachineSafe platform.

MachineSafe Support can also add your inspections to your account.

Security

Never give out your account login information to colleagues to use. You do not want anyone edits inspections in your name.

Add colleagues as company users so any changes are authorised and logged against the user making the changes.
